Fairvew (Green Hills circa 1925 from Tom Henderson III

After Woodstock (1) burned down, Chauncey Charles (C.C. )Foster (1864-1933) and Martha Bradford "Mattie" Foster (1867-1952) restarted in the newly developing area of Green Hills. It was sizable home with 7 rooms. Originally the corner street was Abbott Lane which turned into Abbot -Martin Rd. later when the road was cut through to Lynwood BL. That certainly helped open up Green Hills to development and movement between Harding Rd. and Hillsboro Rd.

Fairview (Green Hills) from Tom Henderson III

Chauncey's mother Elizabeth Nichol (Mrs. Wilbur) Foster (1843-1927) lived with them. His father Wilbur F. Foster (1834-1922) was an engineer who founded Foster Creighton Co. a long-time local construction contracting firm. He was a engineer in the C.S.A. and is responsible for many regional maps from the 1860s to the early 1900s.

About 1932, the first home burned down, and Mattie had Fairview rebuilt again - her third home! The family owned Fairview from 1933-1955. The home was torn down afterward, and Green Hills Market, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, and most recently, Walgreens have been on/ near the corner. See Woostock (1)
