Circa 1838 2-story wood frame home

Washington “Wash” R. Price (1803-1855) and Frances B. Harris Price (1818-1856) built their 2-story home of cypress and heart pine - both for durability. He was a North Carolina native and planter, and the family reportedly owned over 7,000 acres of land in LaFayette Co. On his journey to Mississippi, Price had lived in Jackson, TN where he farmed and wed Frances. The home was on the Yocona River about 12 miles from Oxford.
Price helped found the town of Oxford, and with partner Maj. Paul B. Barringer, built the University Hotel (where the current City Hall sits). The hotel was destroyed in the Union burning of Oxford in 1864. Most of the Price children died young. One of their sons, Bem, built a home and used the names of his sister and wife to call it Annadelle. His children Huldric (1839-1903), Bem and Armead moved back to Oak Grove as the Civil War began. His brother Armead remained at Oak Grove. Huldric married Lucy Carter Richards (1851-1924) of King Carter of Virginia fame in 1872. Lucy was his third wife. There were major celebrations, and the couple resided at Oak Grove.
Later the Turnbow family owned. Guy N. Turnbow (1908-1975) was likely the owner. He was married twice: Lottie V. White Turnbow (1906-1965) and Dorothy Bratton Turnbow (1925-1985). Turnbow was an Ole Miss graduate who played professional football.

In the 1960s, Commander Bentley Baker "Ben" Crawford (1924-2011) and Shelloye Jean Persons Crawford (1927-2023) owned the place. They renamed the property 7Cs for their family of 5 children. They also relocated the home to the Denmark community east between Oxford and Pontotoc - now off Hwy 6 at 133 C.R. 423. Shelloye was an authority in late 18th and early 19th century antiques and opened 7Cs Antiques on the Square. In 2002, Oak Grove was restored. In 2025, it still retained 80 acres. See Ammadelle
