Circa 1872.  2 story brick townhouse.


Hermann Heinrich "HH" Mette (1812-1874) and Mary Elizabeth Goldkamp Mette (1818-1911) built their townhouse about a block from the Magevney House. They emigrated from Hanover, Germany. He was a grocer and bank director. Their son Mattias "Martin" Herman Mette (1846-1927) and Emma Hein Mette (1852-1932) wed in 1876. On the home, the brick is laid in “English Garden Wall” pattern.

In 1968, the home was renovated extensively. Most recently, the property now is used by commercial and law offices.
