Kinzie-Jamison House

Circa 1900. 2 story American Foursquare style residence


The original owner is was the Kinzie family.


Edna May Jamison (1908-2005) and King Wells Jamison (1896-1968) owned the home in the mid-twentieth century.  She was a leader in the civic community of Jackson. In 1953, she helped organize Unit One of the League of Women Voters. She was a watercolor artist and writer. In the 1940s, as president of the Jackson TN Junior School PTA, she spearheaded significant reforms in the Jackson School system. During the 1950s, Edna served as Commissioner of Parks and Sanitation for Jackson. King was an electrician for the G.M. & O. Railroad. 



Their son K. W. Jamison, Jr. moved to and taught in Louisville, KY and Murfreesboro, TN.
