619 and 621 East Main St. Jackson, TN
Circa 1910/ 1915 Queen Anne- style home
John Finley Snider (1848-1931) and Anna Bond Snider (1858-1938) were the first owners. Their daughter Nettie Snider Payne and her husband Robert Payne, lived with them for quite a few years. Payne was a Spanish-American War veteran and a railroad conductor.
After Payne died in 1914, Nettie returned home.
Bruce Carlisle Edenton (1883-1930) and Nell S. Benton Edenton (1890-1987)(m.1914) lived in this bungalow. They moved to Jackson in 1890. The Edenton family started and ran first a grocery store and then the first wholesale grocery house in West Tennessee beyond Memphis - the J. C. Edenton Wholesale Grocery Co. for three generations from 1896-1957. With his sons, Edenton also started wholesale grocery houses in Lexington, Dyersburg and Trenton, TN. They also helped organize the Union Bank and Trust Company (1918) and then the Security National Bank.

Their son Bruce was a businessman who built the first Holiday Inn outside of North America.
In 2025, the home had been razed and was a vacant lot.
